Our History:

Rooster Andy’s Catering is owned by Andy Pretasky. Yes! There really is an Andy behind the business name!

Andy is a La Crosse native, graduating from Central High School and attended the University of Wisconsin La Crosse for business. He was a four year starter All American defensive end for the UWL Eagles, playing in two national championships during his college years.

In 1988, Andy and his father were approached by a family friend to take over his small Chicken Q business. So with no name for a business, an old van, grill and some beat up equipment, Andy and his dad started their partnership venture. A year later, Andy’s father was in the middle of developing Pettibone Camp ground and asked Andy if he would like to buy out his half of the Chicken Q business. Andy did for the next few years, never thinking it would be a career because his #1 goal was still to be in the NFL.

After college was over, Andy decided to make catering his career. He expanded and started doing weddings, parties and cooperate events and Rooster Andy’s was born! You can say that starting a business was probably in his blood since his father and two brothers all owned their own successful businesses!

Ten years after starting Rooster Andy’s, that desire to play football was still there. Andy joined the La Crosse River Rats Arena football team and was a started for every game. Since that time, Andy has just concentrated on growing a successful catering business.

Twenty one years later, Rooster Andy’s is still growing. Specializing in weddings and catering to many individuals and groups parties big and small. And helping many community organizations with raising needed funds through Chicken Q’s.

Andy and his staff are committed to being a part of the La Crosse area and doing their part to making it better!
